The following rules regulate the conditions and fees for the attendant of the 20th international conference in Advances in Laser technology 2012 (ALT’ 2012) (below attendant) and the reliability of the organization committee of the ALT’12 (below organization committee).

Organization committee

1.  The organization committee is responsible for organizing and managing the 20th international conference of Advances in Laser Technology 2012 in Thun, Switzerland. In order to do this the organization committee has established the non-profit association Verein ALT’12 Organisationskomitee according to the Swiss Civil Code. The association is in particular the legal body for all financial affairs concerning the ALT’12.

Registration and Fees

2.  All people indenting to attend the conference ALT’12 have to register online and pay the registration fee.

3.  The following fees apply:
  1. regular conference fee: 614.- CHF
  2. reduced student fee: 490.- CHF
  3. additional accompanying person registered with a student or regular conference attendee: 250.- CHF per person
An additional fee of 50.- CHF per person will be charged for payments after 15th June 2012.

All fees are in Swiss Francs, include bank charges and are payable to Verein ALT’12 Organisationskomitee.

4.  The regular and student registration fees include:
  1. Access to conference
  2. Welcome reception
  3. Lunch during the conference
  4. Poster Session on boat with refreshments
  5. Conference dinner

The accompanying person fee includes:

  1. Welcome reception
  2. Lunch during the conference
  3. Poster Session on boat with refreshments
  4. Conference dinner

The fees do not include any accommodations.

5.  Attendants studying or doing a PhD are entitled to the reduced student fee. A proof of being a student is required. The website will provide more information about proofing student status.

6.  The registration is not completed until the payment of the total fee of the conference, including any fees for accompanying persons and late registration fees. After the online registration for the ALT’12 on the website, the attendant will receive an invoice by e-mail with the total fee cost and payment details. The organization committee ALT12 will send a registration confirmation, once the conference registration is completed.


7.  The conference and communication language is English.

8.  The organization committee will communicate by e-mail where it is possible.

9.  The e-mail address of the attendant submitted with the registration works as a personal identifier and has to be used with all communications with the organization committee.

10. The organization committee will only communicate with the conference attendant. The attendant is responsible for all accompanying person registered with him or her at the same time.

VISA and travel regulations

11. The attendant and accompanying persons are responsible to fulfill all requirements including VISA and travel regulations for visiting Switzerland. On request the organizing committee will provide a letter of confirmation after the completion of the registration. The organization committee is not reliable for any loss or damages of any kind due to not fulfilling the requirements for entering Switzerland of the attendant or accompanying persons.

12. Traveling to and from the conference is in responsibility of the attendant and their accompanying persons. The organization committee is not reliable for any loss or damages of any kind of the attendant or accompanying persons during the travel to and from the conference.


13. The organization committee will not refund any paid fee when an attendant or an accompanying person cannot attend the conference.


14. The accommodation is not included in the conference fee. The attendant is responsible to find accommodation for him / her and his /her accompanying persons. There are special conditions for conference attendants and their accompanying persons for accommodation at the GWATT-Zentrum. Accommodation at the GWATT-Zentrum is not guaranteed and is provided as first come first served principal.


15. Personal insurance is the responsibility of each attendee. The organization committee is not reliable for any damages or loss.


16. The organization committee is seated in Burgdorf, Switzerland. The court of jurisdiction is Switzerland.
