The following rules regulate the conditions and responsibility of the authors submitting abstracts to the 20th international conference in Advances in Laser technology 2012 (ALT’ 2012) (below author) and the reliability of the organization committee of the ALT’12 (below organization committee).

Organization committee

1.  The organization committee is responsible for organizing and managing the 20th international conference in Advances in Laser Technology 2012 in Thun, Switzerland. In particular, the organization committee is responsible for the high scientific standard of the conference ALT’12.

Origin of the work

2.  By submitting the abstracts the author(s) confirms that the named authors are the only originator of the work and that the work has been conducted according the scientific standards. Any contributions to the work by a third party or any references to a work of a third party are clearly named in the abstracts.

Submitting Abstract

3.  Abstracts can be submitted via the website from 1. March 2012 until 1. May 2012. Abstracts submitted after the 1. May 2012 will be rejected without review.

4.  The form and style of the abstracts have to be in accordance with the template provided on the conference website. In particular this includes the e-mail address of the corresponding author and a short abstract of maximum 200 words. Additionally the length of the submitted abstract must not exceed two A4-pages.

5.  Attendants studying or doing a PhD are entitled to the reduced student fee. A proof of being a student is required. The website will provide more information about proofing student status.

Evaluation of the abstract

6.  All abstracts fulfilling the format and style as mentioned on the website will be reviewed by the committee members.

7.  In order to fulfill its duty the organization committee has the right to send the abstracts to experts for the evaluation of the scientific quality of the work.

8.  The organization committee will decide about the acceptance of a work. The final decision will be made by the members of the organization committee co-chairs and is not subject to appeal.

9.  All authors of accepted abstracts have to fill out a copyright form authorizing the organization committee to copy and publish the abstracts.


10.    The authors of accepted abstracts will be notified on 1. June 2012 or shortly after that date. With this notification the author will be informed whether he/she will do an oral or a poster presentation of the abstract.

11.    Each corresponding author whose abstract has been accepted will be asked to sign a copyright form prior to the conference. In the case of an abstract with more than one author the corresponding author can sign the copyright form acting for the other authors.

12.    The organization committee will decide about the program schedule of the presentation of the abstracts after the 1st August 2012.
